A well-established property management company is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support its Accounting and Payroll functions. This role will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, resolving discrepancies, preparing journal entries, and assisting with both recurring and ad hoc accounting activities. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Prepare and post general ledger journal entries.
Assist with monthly management fee calculations and reporting.
Set up bank accounts and manage account openings and closings.
Support onboarding of new properties and vendor setup.
Approve journal entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable batches submitted by team members.
Process internal shared cost invoices.
Generate weekly cash balance reports prior to disbursements.
Handle check stamping for payable batches as required.
Assist with year-end financial activities, including 1099 processing and monthly closings.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
Provide backup support for payroll processing and accounts payable.
Assist with data entry for deposits and cash receipts.
Support monthly close and financial reporting cycles.
BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP
A team player willing to support various functions across the department.
Experience with payroll processing.
Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software.
