We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer – Command and Control (C2) supporting one of our premier programs in the business unit, where your knowledge with regards to clarification of requirements, system engineering analyses, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification will be put to good use. This work will be on-site at our Aurora, CO campus.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to architects, Lead Systems Engineers (LSEs), and MBSE POCs
  • Act as a key interface with customers and external stakeholders, ensuring strong communication and relationship management
  • Own and maintain RFC (Request for Change) and bid library updates, supporting new business initiatives
  • Support and represent the company in external working groups
  • Guide teams through major technical and organizational changes
  • Contribute to system design, integration, and test efforts, particularly in satellite and ground systems
  • Drive technical strategy and process improvements across programs

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
  • Leadership experience with MBSE, architecture, and systems engineering principles.
  • Development experience on a government contract

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience in Satellite Command/Control and knowledge of satellite, ground systems, and test/integration processes (preferred).
  • Strong soft skills, including emotional intelligence, customer engagement, and communication.
  • Experience in leading programs or projects from start to finish
  • Proven ability to lead teams through significant changes and transformations and ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
  • Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements databases, MBSE, CAMEO or Agile/Scrum (a plus).
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
