Great Life work Balance position with excellent benefits! The Van Dispatcher is responsible for organizing and dispatching our team of drivers and buses daily in a fast paced and continuously changing environment. Incumbent dispatches daily rides for participants, follows up on ride status, and adjusts schedules in real time as necessary. This is a full-time position, Monday- Friday 8-4 position; no nights, weekends or holidays!
Location: Lynn, MA
Responsibilities:
Manages and completes the process of receiving and organizing ride requests: Approving; denying; routing requests through scheduling software and sorting into efficient routes.
Assists the Fleet Logistics Specialist with driver and route reviews through tracking software for compliance and efficiency.
Monitors proper use of van equipment by the drivers.
Acts on behalf of the Fleet Logistics Specialist when unavailable.
Acts as backup driver if scheduled drivers are unavailable.
Assists with the investigation and resolution of complaints and incidents from staff, participants, and the public.
Provides frequent ongoing staff education.
Ensures company vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned, and safely operated to avoid accidents and enhance company image.
Exercises significant independent judgment to determine the best methods for accomplishing our objectives.
Position may include duties that require wearing a face mask where a seal is critical. Incumbent may be required to not have facial hair that interferes with a tight seal of the respirator.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license from the State of residence
Previous (1-2 years) transportation related experience
Strong computer skills
Must be able to pass and maintain DOT Physical and DOT mandated driver training
Ability to make decisions quickly and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience working with geriatrics or people with disabilities a plus
