Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist/Senior Scientist with passion and drive to join our Translational Research team. The successful candidate would provide research support in biochemical and biophysical assay development, and work in partnership with a multi-disciplinary drug-hunting team. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and experience in biochemistry, protein science, biophysics, variety of analytical methods, structural biology, and impact in the discovery of novel small molecule modulators for rare disease targets.

Responsibilities · Design, execute, and analyze complex biochemical experiments to support research goals.
· Manage projects
· Designing protein constructs for various biophysical assays.
· Be able to design, run, and interpret data from other biophysical techniques such as ITC and NMR.
· Work collaboratively within a matrix team to execute on hit identification using biochemical & biophysical tools.
· Communicate results to cross functional and project teams.
· Maintain up-to-date experimental notebook and other relevant records.
Required Qualifications · PhD in Biochemistry (or related field) or BS with 7+, & MS with 5+ years of relevant small molecule drug discovery experience
· Experience in various enzymatic activity assay development
· Deep understanding and experience with protein engineering/protein science
· Experience in assay optimization and trouble shooting
· Partnering with CROs for timely execution of project deliverables is a plus.
· Good problem-solving skills, capable of finding innovative ways to overcome issues in developing assays with challenging proteins.
· Excellent communication, planning, organizational skills
· Demonstrated flexibility to thrive in a team-oriented, fast paced, technically challenging projects.
Additional Skills/Preferences · Experience in SPR and/or ITC is a plus
· Experience in structural biology is a plus
· Prior research experience in a drug-discovery is preferred  

Pay Rate Range: $75-100/hr depending on experience
