We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive financial, accounting, and reporting service to a portfolio of real estate assets. You will be expected to be hands-on and have the ability to work autonomously while also collaborating with a team. This position requires a professional with a strong understanding of the commercial real estate industry, particularly in the shopping center sector.


Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
3. Perform CAM reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely CAM recs.
4. Utilize property management software such as Yardi, MRI, and RealPage to manage property accounts effectively.
5. Handle accruals, prepayments, and adjustment entries.
6. Collaborate with property managers to ensure accurate and timely property management and financial reporting.
7. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with established policies and regulations.
8. Assist in budget preparation and financial planning processes.
9. Participate in special projects and prepare ad hoc reports as required.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the commercial real estate sector.
3. Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, MRI, and RealPage.
4. In-depth knowledge of CAM reconciliations and commercial real estate accounting practices.
5. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
