Job Description

Senior Electrical Project Manager – Semiconductor Construction

Location: Tempe, AZ
Company: Quality “Plus” Services (QPS)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Exempt

About Quality “Plus” Services (QPS)

Quality “Plus” Services is a trusted partner in industrial and high-tech construction, delivering safe, high-quality, and cost-effective project execution nationwide. We support complex capital projects across semiconductor, manufacturing, petrochemical, and industrial sectors with an unwavering commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and customer service.

As we expand our presence in Arizona’s fast-growing semiconductor market, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead major electrical scopes for high-tech facility and tool-install projects in Tempe and the surrounding region.

Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction activities for semiconductor manufacturing facilities—including FAB expansions, greenfield projects, and large tool-install programs. This role is responsible for scope execution from pre-construction through commissioning, ensuring QPS performance meets the stringent requirements of the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead electrical construction for semiconductor FAB environments: cleanrooms, subfab, interstitial, support utilities, and central plant.
  • Manage fast-track schedules and sequencing aligned with tool-install milestones.
  • Oversee installation of MV/LV distribution, substations, UPS systems, emergency power, grounding, controls, and specialty electrical systems.

Financial & Contract Management

  • Develop budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting in coordination with QPS leadership.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor scopes, evaluate bids, and support procurement of long-lead electrical equipment.
  • Review and negotiate change orders, track cost impacts, and maintain budget integrity.

Team & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Interface with owner representatives, EPC/EPCM teams, design engineers, and semiconductor tool vendors.
  • Lead coordination meetings and resolve field issues across electrical, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
  • Supervise electrical superintendents, field crews, and QA/QC resources to ensure project excellence.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Uphold QPS safety standards and semiconductor facility protocols—including contamination control and cleanroom procedures.
  • Ensure all work meets NEC, NFPA, SEMI standards, project specifications, and client quality expectations.
  • Support commissioning, energization, and system turnover documentation.

Scheduling

  • Build and maintain detailed P6 schedules for electrical scopes.
  • Forecast manpower, identify schedule risks, and develop mitigation or recovery plans.

Technical & Engineering Support

  • Review electrical design documents, single-line diagrams, tool installation packages, and BIM models.
  • Support constructability reviews, RFI generation, and field engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate testing, startup, and commissioning activities with facility operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years electrical construction project management experience.
  • 5+ years supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or mission-critical industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution, substations, switchgear, UPS systems, and high-tech infrastructure.
  • Experience in cleanroom construction and semiconductor contamination-control procedures.
  • Proficiency with P6, Bluebeam, BIM coordination tools, and construction management software (e.g., Procore/CMiC).

Preferred

  • Degree in Electrical Construction Management, or related field.
  • PMP, PE, or similar advanced credentials.
  • Experience with Intel, TSMC, Micron, Samsung, GlobalFoundries, or other semiconductor owners.

Why QPS?

  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • Strong safety culture
  • Opportunity to lead high-visibility projects in a rapidly expanding semiconductor market
  • Long-term growth potential with a respected national contractor
Company Description

QPS is a true multi-craft industrial contractor, providing the efficiency that comes from a single point of contact and allowing for tasks and projects to be carefully tracked and monitored and ensuring a timely and cost-effective completion that is measured in safety and quality of craftmanship.
