Job Title: Project Estimator (Low Voltage)

Location: Austin, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Low Voltage Estimator to join our client’s team in Austin. This role is responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for structured cabling, access control, CCTV, and other low voltage systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems and a solid understanding of estimating practices and project cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review construction plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Perform site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales staff to develop and refine project scopes and proposals.
• Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and pricing.
• Assist in the preparation of bid packages and participate in bid reviews and project kick-off meetings.
• Track and document estimate revisions and maintain historical cost data for future reference.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in estimating low voltage systems.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling, security systems, audio/video systems, and other low voltage systems.
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, Accubid, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
