Description

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for a highly skilled leader with proven management experience and a passion for making a difference in the community.

The Phlebotomist Supervisor (Center) in Gainesville, FL. is responsible for overseeing phlebotomy functions and for ensuring the assigned team functions as a cohesive unit.

Previous supervisory experience is required for this position.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

* Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual team collection goals

* Oversee assigned team's donor collection functions including recruitment and adherence to quality standards

* Oversee and perform the recruitment, registration, examination, donor interview and phlebotomy of volunteer blood donors

* Motivate and educate team members, establish and maintain positive team morale and foster operational cooperation within the district and region

* Ensure blood drives operate safely, smoothly, efficiently and effectively

* Display positive customer service skills to both internal and external customers

* Successful completion of CDL training program and state CDL licensing

* Drive bloodmobiles

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED

* Previous supervisory experience

* Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements

* Must have consistent and reliable transportation

* Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

* Strong interpersonal and team building skills

* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

* Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software applications

* Ability to work in a variety of physical environments and minor physical activity including standing and lifting

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

* One year of phlebotomy experience preferred

* Two to three years of previous supervisory experience preferred

* Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.

To provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related activities.
