Summary The Physician is responsible for all functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. The Physician role is an opportunity for a Pediatrician/PEM Physician to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting. Physicians are responsible for evaluating and providing evidence-based treatment to pediatric patients within their scope of practice under the Medical Directors direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships and rapport with patients/families, other physicians, employees, and volunteers.
Description PM Pediatrics is hiring additional PEM physicians and pediatricians with urgent care experience to join our team which includes over 60 PEM providers. Under the guidance of the Medical Director, physicians are responsible for evaluating and providing evidence-based treatment to pediatric patients in an urgent care setting.
Job Responsibilities: •Performing procedural care (abscess drainage, laceration repair with sutures, staples, and dermal adhesive, and foreign body removal)
•Assessment and treatment of acute injury
•Assessment and treatment of acute illness; including but not limited to anaphylaxis, procedural anxiolysis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma care
•Providing preliminary interpretation of x-rays with official radiology over-reads
•Oversight of trainees and co-signing of APP's charts
•Manage a busy, fast-paced workflow.

•Ability to critically think, multitask, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
•Excellent computer skills and experience with EMR (eCW experience preferred)
•BC/BE in Pediatrics
•Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience
Qualifications - Pediatric experience is required; Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospitalist, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience preferred
- BC/BE in Pediatrics
- Active state license for each state where treating patients
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within six months of hire
- Skill in rapid assessment of the critical presentation of the pediatric population
- Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
- Excellent computer skills and experience with EMR (eCW experience preferred)
- Ability to critically think, multitask, and work as a part of a multidisciplinary team
