**POSITION SUMMARY**

BWI Companies is seeking a competitive territory sales representative to develop and expand the professional markets in the San Antonio, TX area. This successful candidate will generate leads, qualify prospects and build relationships by recommending agronomic solutions and selling value added chemicals, fertilizers and other beneficial products to retail dealers. Additional responsibilities include soliciting new accounts, creating and implementing sales strategy, executing sales promotions, and being proficient with product knowledge.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

**Essential Function Statement(s)**

* Set challenging goals in customer service performance, a key accountability for this role. Address and anticipate customer needs in products, pricing, availability, product uses, and credit terms.

* Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.

* Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.

* Consult with clients after sales to provide ongoing support and exhibit outstanding customer service.

* Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.

* Prepare agronomic plans and bids that meet specific customer needs.

* Provide customers with product samples and literature.

* Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.

* Monitor and evaluate market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.

* Negotiate details of contracts, payments and prepare sales order forms.

* Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports. Keep Sales Manager informed on achievement of goals to support growth in sales, gross profit, customer service, etc.

* Identify weed and disease situations with customer.

* Obtain credit information about prospective customers.

* Communicate with manufacturers on product pricing and availability.

* Participate as an active team member in division sales meetings.

* Perform all other duties as directed by the Sales Manager, in support of the overall success of the division and company.

**SKILLS & ABILITIES**

**Education:** Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) required; preferred background in agronomy or horticulture.

**Experience:** Two to four years of sales experience in the farm and ranch industry.

**Computer Skills:** Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
