The ideal candidate will be able to carry out their daily routine with minimal supervision, while being empowered to improve processes throughout the business and execute the goals of Customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for playing a role in managing the optimization portfolio along with energy account management duties with a wide variety of customers throughout the Midwestern United States. This dynamic role will encompass being a lead interface with our customer's along with scheduling energy supply, managing natural gas transportation assets, and maintaining relationships with utilities and pipelines. DURING A TYPICAL DAYIdentifying opportunities to optimize assets to meet the goals and objectives of the teamScheduling on interstate pipelines and utilitiesManaging imbalances and communicating an accurate, current position in a timely mannerWorking with pipelines and utilities on various projects for customersWorking with customers to develop hedging plans and strategiesAssisting accounting with month end; Invoice reconciliation and delivery to customersCommunicating to customers pertinent information consistent with the terms of energy services agreementsREQUIREMENTS: WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING 3+ years of recent natural gas scheduling experience on interstate pipelinesWorking knowledge of United States interstate pipeline systemKnowledge and understanding of Midwestern natural gas markets and their fundamental driversDesire to learn the Midwestern physical gas market in a great level of detail and develop trade strategies around this knowledgeAbility to develop and discuss hedging programs with customersAbility to transact around the energy needs for customer portfoliosArticulate and able to communicate ideas to customers in a clear mannerAbility to value natural gas transportation and storage assets on behalf of customersAbility to cultivate and foster team environment within the office to further the organization's goalsWorking knowledge of gas accountingSTRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE High level of personal integrityExcellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detailStrong organizational skillsSense of urgency which drives resultsInterpersonal skills - ability to interact with individuals at all levels within/outside the organizationDemonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to embrace and promote changeAbility to think objectivelySelf-awareness in the face of uncertaintyAbility to work in a team environmentGROWTH & DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIESAt POET, we encourage internal development and growth by allowing team members to carve their own path to success.
