Janitor Job Description About Ciela Senior Living:

• Previous janitorial, facilities, or maintenance support experience in senior living, hospitality, or commercial building settings preferred.

• Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Must be proficient in the use of janitorial equipment, including  carpet steamers and floor polishing/buffing machines .

• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to interpret written instructions, safety protocols, and communicate effectively with team members and residents.

• Must meet all health-related requirements pertaining to state licensure.

• Must maintain current CPR/First Aid credentials.

• Must maintain annual Continuing Education Credits.

• Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Subject to pre-employment screening including physical, drug and TB testing, and criminal background check.

Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned.

• Empty and clean all waste containers; remove waste paper and garbage from the premises to designated disposal areas; damp-wipe containers as needed.

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms; restock supplies as needed.

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, and appropriate tile floor maintenance.

• Damp dust all ceiling and air conditioning diffusers, partition grilles, registers, and other ventilating louvers.

• Vacuum all mats and carpeted areas in workplaces, lobbies, and corridors.

• Hand dust and clean all office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills, and flat surfaces.

• Wipe clean and buff all metal hardware fixtures and brightwork.

• Damp wipe and buff all glass furnishings.

• Clean entry door glass, both indoor and exterior surfaces.

• Remove stains from vertical surfaces including doors, door frames, light switch areas, and private entry glass/dividers.

• Perform carpet and upholstery spot cleaning and floor care using  carpet steamers and polishing equipment .

• Ensure cleanliness and safety of all high-traffic and shared spaces.

• Collaborate with Housekeeping and Maintenance team members to ensure timely turnover of common areas and event spaces.

• Clean and sanitize equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and carts, as needed.

• Assist with set-up and breakdown of furniture or equipment for community activities and events.

• Respond promptly to cleaning or minor sanitation requests throughout the building.

• Attend all required team member meetings and in-service training sessions.

• Uphold Residents’ Rights as defined by state regulations and Company policy at all times.

• Support and uphold all Company policies and the Ciela service philosophy.

• Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
