General Purpose
Are you passionate about geographic information systems (GIS) and eager to make a meaningful impact in your community? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented GIS Technician to help us shape the future of our city. As a GIS Technician, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the geographic data that supports our city's planning and decision-making processes. Your work will directly contribute to the services we provide to staff, citizens, and other stakeholders, helping us create a vibrant and well-connected community.

Key Responsibilities:
Map & Report Creation: Utilize Esri’s ArcGIS software suite to prepare, maintain, and deliver high-quality maps and reports that serve the needs of various stakeholders, from city staff to community members.
Data Management: Edit and maintain feature classes in a versioned enterprise database, including essential data such as annexations, streets, parcels, addresses, and administrative boundaries.
Technical Support: Provide Tier 1 GIS support to diagnose, restore, and maintain GIS-related software and data, ensuring smooth operation and user satisfaction.
Training & Documentation: Train city employees in using the GIS system and related applications, and maintain clear, up-to-date user documentation and procedures for GIS applications.
Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with other city departments to review address plats and suggest improvements, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our GIS standards.
Service Excellence: Document all work products and progress in the IT Service Management System, ensuring that service level commitments to both internal and external customers are met.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
ITIL Experience:** Experience in IT service management is a plus, with ITIL Foundations Certification preferred.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range for this position is $24.41 - $30.51 per hour.
