Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and diagnose dental conditions.
  • Perform routine dental procedures such as extractions, fillings, root canals, crowning, and scaling.
  • Assess treatment planning options and discuss them with patients.
  • Implement preventative dental care to maintain and improve patients' oral health.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in dentistry through continuing education courses.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings to discuss clinic procedures and improvements.
  • Supervise dental assistants and hygienists to ensure compliance with internal protocols and standards.
  • Manage patient records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection-control protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other dental professionals and staff to provide a harmonious and effective workplace.
  • Provide emergency care and advice on how to manage dental accidents and injuries.
  • Promote oral health awareness amongst patients through educational resources and proactive communications.
  • Handle sensitive patient information with discretion and professional ethics.
  • Develop personal relationships with patients, adding a personal touch to make dental visits a positive experience.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
  • Valid state dental license (free of any past or pending disciplinary actions).
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in general dentistry preferred.
  • Demonstrable ability to handle a full-range of dental treatment cases.
  • Strong understanding of dental surgery procedures and management of dental emergencies.
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to communicate complex medical information to non-expert patients clearly and compassionately.
