Tzumi Electronics continues to grow and is looking for a freelance tech-savvy copywriter to join the team. Must have minimal 3-5 years’ experience.

Note: This position is an ON-SITE daily and based in New York, NY 10016. Please attach a portfolio.

Do you love innovation and trending tech? Are you a quick study? Can you easily pivot writing styles—switch from pithy promotional writing to technical writing, long-form to short-form? Do you work independently as well as collaboratively? Most importantly, do you have the gift of sticking captivating words to paper? If so, this might be the right fit.

Submit a resume along with at least three pieces of writing that you consider to be your best work (no more than five or six pages in overall length, please) that clearly demonstrates your prowess with any/all forms of written communication. These samples can either be sent as attachments and/or links, and can be of any genre, but straight up “copy style” samples would be best. Any promotional copy a plus!

This role is hybrid of a copywriter and a technical writer. Some of the things you will tasked with writing while working with us are:

  • Packaging
  • Product Manuals/Documentation
  • Product Web Copy
  • Social Platforms and Promotional Copy
  • Copy Editing
  • PROOFREADING

Other requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing, or 3-5 years of diversified professional copywriting and editing experience.
  • Someone comfortable working with electronic products/accessories with the ability to break down how they function both creatively and technically as needed.
  • Ability to translate difficult concepts into easy-to-understand language.
  • Ability to craft engaging original copy, as well as update existing copy with pertinent new information, etc.
  • A self-starting individual that’s efficient in prioritizing, organizing and following-up as you will have autonomy in completing many projects, some having tight deadlines.
  • Someone adaptable and quick learning, that thrives in fast-paced environments. Flexible in evolving concepts and has great critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Your email correspondence skills are polished and professional.
  • Proofreading materials in adherence to internal guidelines as well as refresh and maintain those guidelines.
