Job Description

Are you a seasoned architecture or interior design professional ready to lead impactful commercial real estate fit-up projects? Join Cummings Properties , a full-service real estate development firm, as a Design Manager .

As part of our growing Design Department, you’ll co-lead a 12-person team focused on fit-up and building upgrade projects across a diverse commercial portfolio. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional leadership role with hands-on involvement in project planning, design execution, and team development.

What You’ll Do:

🔹 Collaborate with leasing, construction, and operations teams

🔹 Guide space planning, lease drawings, construction documents, and cost estimates

🔹 Mentor team members and contribute to department strategy

🔹 Ensure projects meet building codes, design standards, and client expectations

🔹 Engage with internal and external resources for specialized scopes like HVAC and electrical

🔹 Visit job sites to track construction progress and alignment with plans

What You Bring:

✔ 12+ years’ experience in architecture, interior design, or related field

✔ Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design

✔ Strong project management skills and design sensibility

✔ Knowledge of building systems and commercial construction practices

✔ A collaborative mindset and passion for mentoring teams
